How do I know when my power wheelchair is fully charged?
The charge indicator that's built into the charger should notify you. However you should always consult your user manual for the exact instructions for your power wheelchair model.
Do I have to recharge the batteries for my power wheelchair every day?
Yes, it's advisable to recharge the batteries every night - regardless of their use during the day. It's especially important to fully-charge your power wheelchair before first-use. If you don't recharge the batteries regularly, it will reduce their ability to hold power.
I sometimes receive a static shock when sitting in my power wheelchair - is it from my power wheelchair?
No. Static electricity is a natural phenomenon and does not come from your powerchair's batteries.
How can I customise a power wheelchair to meet my needs?

The colored lights on my battery indicator are flashing. What does this mean?
Each combination of LED lights that blink means something special. For example, a certain number of lights means that the charger is in when you try to switch on the chair. Or that someone forgot to dis-engage the free-wheel after moving the chair by hand. You will find an overview of what these flashes mean in your user manual.
How can I modify the driving profile of my power wheelchair?
Your user instruction manual will provide information on how to adjust the driving profile. However, any reprogramming of the control unit must be carried out by an authorised Sunrise Medical dealership. Improper programming of the control unit can jeopardise safety whilst driving.
Can you push an electric wheelchair?
Your electric wheelchair is equipped with a manual freewheel lever mounted on each motor, which are easily identifiable by their red tip. Just switch the wheelchair off and then turn the levers, once they have clicked these levers will disengage the electric brake so that you can push the chair manually. There will be some resistance to push the electric wheelchair as this is a safety feature built in to the motors to ensure the chair doesn't roll to quickly.
