Description of Issue:
As a result of the closure of the HMC factory in Belgium, Sunrise Medical has been required to source alternative solutions for all HMC components and as a result the HMC Mini Joystick and Powered Swing away chin control options have been upgraded.
1. Switch-It Mini JS (Micro guide)
The HMC Mini Joystick has been replaced by the Switch-It Mini Joystick (Micro Guide) on the Quickie Salsa and Jive
powered wheelchairs. All mountings are compatible enabling existing chairs in the field to be easily upgraded to the new joystick without changing mounting systems.
All order Forms have been updated to reflect the new option and the Switch-It Mini JS (Micro guide) is available as a spare part under part code 21011083.
Benefits to customer
• Improved durability and easier mounting
• Increased compatibility with alternative mounting options e.g. bib mount, swivel joystick, bullet tray mount.
2. Powered Swing away chin control
The powered swing away control option on the Salsa and Jive powered wheelchairs. The option is backward compatible with all tubing, mounting dimensions and adjustment ranges remaining the same.
Benefit to customer
• Smaller actuator making it less obtrusive at the rear of the chair.
