The torque support increases stability of the drive wheel. It should be always assembled as close as possible to the docking arms (in the coupled situation) to get the lowest force impact in case of a fail function. When driving over uneven terrain increasing the distance between the docking arms and the torque support would be benefical (for increased downward movement).
