TB 0824 - Standardisation of Castor Forks

01/11/2024

As our product range continues to expand, we try to make every effort possible to reduce complexity within our range, and benefit from our products cross-compatibility by simplifying spare parts.

Our next step on this ongoing exercise is to standardise the castor forks on our core, folding active manual chair range. From the 4th November 2024, all new orders of; Quickie Life F, Quickie Life FT, Quickie Life R, Quickie Life RT & Quickie Xenon 2 SA will use the fork design introduced on the Quickie QS5 X

Not only does this help to reduce complexity, but these forks are also sleeker and more modern in appearance, as well as being lighter (avg. 20%) to help reduce overall chair weight.

The introduction of these forks will continue across the rest of the active manual chair range in three phases, (Phase 1 – November, Phase 2 – December, Phase 3- February), with Phase 1 being introduced on the products listed above and on the below fork options:

  • Fork Length 168mm to be replaced by 158mm
  • Fork Length 174mm to be replaced by 166mm
  • Fork option ‘Anodized Orange’ will be discontinued
  • Life FT/RT will remove some powder coating options to match current QS5 X selection

Our configurator will be updated immediately, order forms and literature will follow shortly after. For spare parts, please use the QS5 X section of e-parts in the short term.
