One-day beginner course on programming key Sunrise Medical powered wheelchair parameters using LiNX controls.

Dynamic LiNX controllers are available on the Sunrise Medical Q-range of power chairs.  This one-day course will get you started with programming these chairs.  You will learn what programming equipment and software is needed, how to connect and how to alter essential parameters to optimise drive performance in response to client needs.

The day will have plenty of practical sessions and hands-on to consolidate your learning.

Note: Please bring laptop with programming software and LAK if your organisation has one available.

Course Objectives:
At the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand how LiNX programming software works
  • Demonstrate use of PC software and iOS tools for saving and uploading files
  • Have confidence using WebIQ, the Sunrise Medical website for access to wheelchair programme configurations
  • Understand and alter key programming parameters to optimise drive performance, in response to client need
  • Have knowledge of how to get further assistance or training if needed

  • Occupational Therapists, Rehab Engineers,
  • Clinical Scientists and Physiotherapists
  • Field Service Engineers
  • Students in an occupational therapy, physiotherapy, clinical science or rehabilitation engineering programme

Course Content:

This is an entry-level one-day course designed to look at the different control systems used on the Sunrise Medical powered wheelchair range: Penny and Giles, VR2 and R-net.

  • Benefits and limitations
  • What equipment you need to program a power chair
  • How to access and utilise Web IQ: the online programming database
  • What are the most common programming parameters
  • Hands-on experience with handheld and PC programming
