A one-day beginner-friendly course covering key programming basics for Sunrise Medical powered wheelchairs using VR2 and R-net systems.

This one-day course provides a robust foundation to get started with programming the most frequently needed parameters on the Sunrise Medical powered wheelchair range. It includes both VR2 and R-net style control systems. The course is for anyone new to programming, or anyone who wants to understand more about what is possible, even if not directly involved with it.

Note: Please bring handheld programmer or laptop with programming software and dongle if your organisation has one available.

Course Objectives:
At the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the difference between the VR2 and R-net control systems
  • Demonstrate use of PC software and handheld programmers, for saving and uploading files
  • Have confidence using WebIQ, the Sunrise Medical website for access to wheelchair programme configurations
  • Understand and alter key programming parameters to optimise drive performance, in response to client need
  • Have knowledge of how to get further assistance or training if needed

This is an entry-level one-day course designed to look at the different control systems used on the Sunrise Medical powered wheelchair range: Penny and Giles, VR2 and R-net.

  • Benefits and limitations
  • What equipment you need to program a power chair
  • How to access and utilise Web IQ: the online programming database
  • What are the most common programming parameters
  • Hands-on experience with handheld and PC programming
