Frequently Asked Questions

'C' stands for curved and 'F' stands for flat. A C-pad has a curved bottom and is suitable for wheelchairs with "sling seats" (usually on manual wheelchairs). The F-pads have a flat bottom and are suitable for wheelchairs with a base (usually on comfort wheelchairs and electric wheelchairs). An F-pad can be supplemented with an insert plate if it is to be used in a wheelchair with a sling seat.

Since 1983 our JAY design engineers have produced superior clinical positioning seating. They have combined science and innovative material technology to develop a market leading range of  wheelchair cushions and backrests.

As Industry pioneers, we continually work with top researchers and clinicians worldwide to develop the most advanced wheelchair seating products. Our products are designed and tested to exceed industry standards.

The JAY philosophy is based on creating a stable posture to maximize function but also provide high skin protection and increased comfort to meet a broader range of clinical and technical needs.

The result is a range of wheelchair seat cushions that begins with a “simple” cushion such as the JAY Soft Combi P or JAY Easy Visco and extends up to more “advanced” cushions like the JAY Balance and JAY J2 Deep Contour. Whatever your seating needs, there’s a JAY wheelchair cushion just for you.
